Stripe Connect is the payment infrastructure that enables you to accept ticket payments from attendees. Connecting your Stripe account is a required step before you can sell paid tickets on EventMann. This guide walks you through the entire setup process.

Why Stripe Connect Is Required

EventMann uses Stripe Connect to securely process payments and route funds directly to your bank account. This ensures:

  • Attendees' payment information is handled by Stripe (PCI-DSS Level 1 certified) — EventMann never sees or stores card details.
  • Payouts go directly to your bank account automatically.
  • Platform commission is deducted transparently before payout.
  • Full compliance with financial regulations in your region.

Step-by-Step Connection Process

  1. Navigate to payment settings: Go to Organizer Settings → Payment → Stripe Connect.
  2. Click "Connect with Stripe" — you will be redirected to Stripe's secure onboarding page.
  3. Create or sign in to your Stripe account: If you already have a Stripe account, sign in. Otherwise, create a new one.
  4. Enter your business information:
    • Business type — individual, sole proprietor, company, or non-profit
    • Legal business name and address
    • Tax identification number (VAT ID, EIN, etc. depending on your country)
  5. Add your bank account: Enter the bank account details where you want to receive payouts (IBAN for European accounts).
  6. Complete identity verification: Stripe may require you to upload a government-issued photo ID (passport, national ID card, or driver's licence) to verify your identity.
  7. Review and submit: Review all details and complete the onboarding. You will be redirected back to EventMann.

Tip: Use a business bank account rather than a personal one for higher payout limits and easier accounting. Stripe also supports multiple bank accounts if needed.

How Payouts Work

Once your Stripe account is connected and verified:

  1. When an attendee purchases tickets, the payment goes to your Stripe account balance.
  2. The platform commission (based on your pricing plan) is automatically deducted.
  3. Stripe automatically transfers the remaining funds to your connected bank account.
  4. Payouts typically arrive within ~2 business days (varies by country and bank).

You can monitor all transactions, payouts, and balances from your Stripe dashboard at dashboard.stripe.com.

Commission Deduction

EventMann's platform commission is deducted automatically from each transaction before it reaches your Stripe balance. The commission rate is determined by your pricing plan. You can view your current plan and commission rate in Organizer Settings → Billing.

Troubleshooting

  • Verification pending: Stripe may need additional time (1–3 business days) to verify your identity or business documents. You can still set up events while waiting, but payouts will not process until verification is complete.
  • Verification rejected: If Stripe rejects your verification, check your email for specific instructions. Common reasons include blurry ID photos, mismatched names, or incomplete business information. Re-submit the required documents through your Stripe dashboard.
  • Currency issues: Ensure your Stripe account supports the currency your events use. If you need to accept payments in a different currency, configure this in your Stripe account settings.
  • Account disconnected: If your Stripe connection appears disconnected, go to Organizer Settings → Payment and click "Reconnect with Stripe" to re-establish the link.

Important: Free events do not require Stripe Connect. You only need to connect Stripe if you plan to sell paid tickets.
