Team Communication

Staff & Volunteers

Staying connected with your event team is essential for smooth operations on event day. EventMann provides messaging tools that let you communicate with organisers, shift managers, and fellow staff members — all within the platform.

Message Channels

Communication is organised into channels based on context:

  • Event channel — a group channel for all staff assigned to a specific event. Use this for general announcements and team-wide updates.
  • Role channel — a channel specific to your role (e.g. "Bar Staff", "Security Team"). Use this for role-specific coordination.
  • Direct messages — private one-on-one messages with the organiser, shift manager, or another staff member.

Receiving Announcements

  1. Check your Messages tab — click "Messages" in the sidebar to see all conversations. Unread messages show a badge count.
  2. Read announcements — organisers post important updates (schedule changes, weather alerts, parking instructions) in the event channel. These are pinned at the top.
  3. Enable notifications — turn on push notifications in your settings so you never miss urgent announcements, especially on event day.

Contacting Your Shift Manager

Your shift manager is your primary point of contact during the event:

  • Find their contact details on your shift page under "Shift Manager"
  • Send a direct message through the platform for non-urgent questions
  • Their phone number is listed for urgent on-site issues

Tip: Check the event channel the evening before your shift for any last-minute updates. Organisers often post final instructions, weather advisories, and parking details 12–24 hours before the event.
