How to Apply for Events
EventMann makes it easy to find and apply for event staffing opportunities that match your skills, availability, and location. This guide covers the full application process from browsing events to receiving your assignment confirmation.
Finding Opportunities
- Go to Browse Events — from your staff dashboard, click "Browse Events" to see all events currently seeking staff or volunteers.
- Filter by skills — use the skill filter to show only events that need your specific abilities (e.g. bartending, photography, check-in).
- Filter by location — set your preferred area and distance radius to see nearby events.
- Filter by date — narrow results to dates when you're available.
- Review the listing — click on an event to see full details: role description, shift times, pay rate, dress code, and any special requirements.
Submitting Your Application
- Click "Apply" — on the event detail page, click the "Apply" button next to the role you want.
- Add a cover note — write a brief message introducing yourself and highlighting relevant experience. Keep it concise but personal.
- Confirm your availability — verify that you're available for all required shifts before submitting.
- Submit — click "Submit Application". The organiser will be notified immediately.
After Applying
Your application moves through these stages:
- Submitted — application received, awaiting organiser review
- Under Review — the organiser is considering your application
- Interview — some events require a brief phone or video interview
- Accepted — you've been selected! Shift details will appear in your schedule
- Declined — not selected this time (you'll receive feedback when available)
Tip: Apply early for popular events. Organisers often review applications on a first-come, first-served basis and may close applications once they've filled all positions.
